South Central Coast

AREA: 44,376.80 km2

CLIMATE: Summer temperatures average above 28°C (82°F) along most of the coast with slightly lower temperatures further inland. Winters are significantly cooler with average temperatures ranging from around 20 to 25°C (68 – 77°F). The region includes some of the most arid (Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan Province) as well as some of wettest climates in Vietnam (Da Nang, parts of Quang Nam Province, Quang Ngai Province). While average precipitation per year exceeds 2800mm in many parts of the three provinces in the north of the region, it is less than 800mm in much of Ninh Thuan Province.

GENERAL: Thanks to the advantageous terrain, the key industries here are fisheries and marine tourism. This wonderful region has a long coastline with many beautiful beaches, marvelous scenery with many islands, bays and hot springs… Along with this long coastline are coastal cities that attract tourists all year round.

With the continuous improvement of infrastructure, entertainment and recreation services, the South Central Coast has gradually affirmed its important role in the tourism industry nationwide through many cultural events or major beauty contest at home and abroad.
