Phu Quoc is not known with many beach destination but do you know it is also to home to numerous streams and waterfalls. Waterfalls and streams are always a tourist attraction in Vietnam. Phu Quoc is not exempt from that rule, of course. Let us take you to discover three most commonly known streams in the central part of Phu Quoc.
All streams and waterfalls belong to Dong Duong Lake – the largest lake in Phu Quoc. The lake has more than 10 streams flowing in and out of it, Suoi Da Dau and Suoi Da Ngon are two largest streams of them.
1. Da Ngon Stream
Suoi Da Ngon : Da Ngon Stream is numerous waterfall located the east of Dong Duong Town. In the list of streams in Phu Quoc, Da Ngon Stream is the name that is the most mentioned stream. Its beauty is majestic and thorny, including 7 picturesque waterfalls.
The stream is surrounded by pristine forest. You can visit Da Ngon stream by hiking around the lake. Both sides’ view leading to Da Ngon Stream is very wild, beautiful and rustic, giving you the pleasure of sightseeing and taking pictures. If there is a ranger available, you can commission a boat across Duong Dong Lake.
2. Tranh Waterfall
Tranh Waterfall: takes you 15 minutes from Dong Duong Town. If you go to Phu Quoc, and can bear to drag yourself off the beach for an hour or two, the Suoi Tranh Waterfall is a really nice relaxing walk to through a forest. The Suoi Tranh Waterfall is one of Phu Quoc’s popular eco-tourism destination, the area has been developed into am eco park which has a large garden area, restaurants for service and a long trail leading to the stream for whom love hiking . It takes you about 20 minutes to reach Tranh Waterfall.

3. Da Ban Stream:
Da Ban stream is located 6km north east of Duong Dong Town. It include many of flat stone slabs and make for an ideal spot for a picnic. Da Ban Stream has only one small main stream flowing. However, the highlight of the stream is a small wooden suspension bridge. The hiking way to the waterfall is quite easy and safe. This place is also not too noisy because so few tourists know so you will be able to enjoy the scenery and have a great picnic here.

4. Fairy Stream
Suoi Tien : This stream is associated with a fairy story The first one I want to cover is the Suoi Tien. About 7km from Duong Dong town, the best way to get to Tien stream is motorbikes or bicycles because the road system is not good. Along the way you can see the famous pepper gardens with the murmuring water flow of the stream.
– Please bring along insect repellent as there are a lot of mosquitoes and insects during rainy season.
– You can climb to the top of waterfalls but be careful !
– There are many orchids and beautiful flora along the hiking trails
– Though the best time of the year for visiting these places is generally at the end of the rain season (from May to October but anytime with reasonable weather is a good time to enjoy a picnic and a stroll through the forest.
If you come at the right time, you will be lost in fairy-tale setting like a film scenery out of Disney movie.
