The fish sauce or “nuoc mam” is a sauce made from salt and fish, so it has particular salty flavor and fishy smell.It appears in almost Vietnamese daily meal. Why Vietnamese like fish sauce ?

Phu Quoc sea is the natural source of great seafood from which can be processed fish sauce famous in and out of the country. Fish sauce has probably been invented right here in Vietnam, but it’s also popular in Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries.
How Phu Quoc fish sauce is made ?
The fish sauce is a sauce made from salt and fish. It is produced by fermenting black anchovies of the Phu Quoc Island coast in large wooden vats within 12-15 months. Coming to Phu Quoc fish sauce factories, at first glance, the giant wooden vats may make you think you’ve arrived for a wine tasting, but you will be surprised with the sauce inside in decades-old barrels of a particular type of wood and imagine how much fish sauce used in daily meal.
According to the fishermen, not all fish are used as fish sauce, just only using special anchovy fish such as “Com Do”, “Com Than”. Especially “Soc Tieu” Anchovies could make the particular Phu Quoc fish sauce flavor.
The fishermen said that the fish sauce is usually brewed in decades-old barrels of a particular type of wood, the characteristic wood of Phu Quoc primitive forest, contributing to the smell of fish sauce and the color of cockroaches’ wings.
When observing, you should try a few drops, we absolutely surprise of the flavor filled your mouth with a pure, pungent, strong. It was rich, strong and sweet. We sure that this is one of unforgetable feeling ^^ . The price of a bottle of fish sauce from 40,000- 130,000 VND depend on its protein level. ( 30-35, 40 or 45 )
